BMW first began organizing amateur and professional golf tournaments in 1982. Over two decades later, BMW is affiliated with the world's most prestigious professional tournaments and organizes the world's largest competitive series for amateurs.

BMW Canada is the Official Vehicle of the RBC Canadian Open. The RBC Canadian Open is not only the country’s most prestigious golf tournament, but is also the third-oldest in the world. This year, the event will take place at Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club in Vancouver, British Columbia from July 18 - 24, 2011.

Other worldwide BMW golf activities involve sponsorships of the US PGA TOUR Championship Series, the Ryder Cup, the BMW International Open as well as the highest-calibre tournament of the European Tour, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
